The Whale Museum and The San Juan Nature Institute are pleased to welcome Kathy Fletcher for a discussion about the state of our inland waters and the efforts to restore their health by the year 2020.
Kathy Fletcher is the founder and executive director of People for Puget Sound, a citizens’ organization formed in 1991 to protect and restore Puget Sound and the Northwest Straits. She sits on the Northwest Straits Commission, the Washington State Oil Spill Advisory Council, and the Puget Sound Partnership’s Ecosystem Coordination Board.
Join us at The Whale Museum for this special event on Friday, April 4. An informal reception begins at 6:30 p.m. to meet Kathy as well as other staff members from People for Puget Sound, the San Juan Nature Institute, and The Whale Museum. The lecture, which begins at 7:30 p.m., is free and open to the public, although donations are greatly appreciated. For more information, call (360) 378-4710 ext. 23. Founded in 1979, The Whale Museum’s mission is to promote stewardship of whales and the Salish Sea ecosystem through education and research. In addition to the lecture series, the Museum provides programs including: the Orca Adoption Program, Soundwatch Boater Education, San Juan Islands Marine Mammal Stranding Network, Marine Naturalist Training Program, and the Whale Hotline.
